San Antonio, TX (Dec. 10, 2019) – There’s plenty of off-the-field action for football fans traveling to San Antonio for the Valero Alamo Bowl. The electrifying matchup between the Texas Longhorns and the No. 11 Utah Utes will take place at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31 at the Alamodome.

Fans looking to enjoy New Year’s Eve in San Antonio will find holiday spirit, River Walk fun and theme-park thrills, plus new restaurants and bars and much more to enjoy.

Visitors can see the holiday lights on the River Walk on a fleet of brightly-colored, electric river barges or bike or kayak along the scenic Mission Reach, which connects to the San Antonio Missions National Historic Park. For a new way to explore, Your Biker Gang offers fat tire electric mini bike tours around the city with ample opportunities to capture the perfect photo.

At SeaWorld San Antonio, visitors will find the largest display of holiday lights in Texas while getting up close and personal with rescued sea turtles at Turtle Reef™, a 126,000-gallon coral-reef themed. More excitement awaits at Six Flags Fiesta Texas where twinkling lights and holiday shows meet heart-pounding rides such as the all-new Joker Carnival of Chaos – the world’s tallest pendulum ride, which stands at a record 17-stories and reaches speeds up to 75 miles per hour.

Fans will find new eateries such as Maverick Whiskey, a truly Texan distillery, brewery and restaurant built on the legacy of Sam Maverick, the original for whom all other mavericks are named. At Burgerteca in Southtown, Chef Johnny Hernandez offers hamburgers spiced up with traditional Mexican ingredients such as chile con queso and al pastor seasoning. For a pregame craft beer, Alamo Beer Company is just a short walk from all the game day action.

After the game, fans can catch San Antonio’s largest free New Year’s Eve celebration just steps from the Alamodome at Hemisfair. Celebrate SA! features live music on three stages, carnival attractions, festive food and a fireworks extravaganza at midnight.
