Pearl Announces its 2018 Holiday Programming

Holidays at Pearl to feature fourth annual Chanukah at Pearl, Doc Watkins Holiday Concert, Posada, Holiday Night Markets, Shopping and More

WHAT:  Pearl is excited to present an exciting lineup of festive events this holiday season. Guests can make the most of the holidays at Pearl by soaking in festive scenery as the entire property is decorated, taking advantage of holiday shopping needs at Pearl’s retailers or by strolling the Holiday Night Market and more. There will also be various festive activations to enjoy such as Chanukah at Pearl, Doc Watkins Holiday Concert in Pearl Park and more.

SHOPPING AT PEARL:
Starting Monday, November 19, Pearl’s Holiday Gift Guide will be available on its website for the duration of the holidays (click here for full guide). The Holiday Gift Guide is the perfect way to sift through all the favorites at each Pearl retailer and select gifts for loved ones, with categories such as For Her, For Him, For Kids, Bargain, and Splurge. The 2019 Holiday Gift Guide features items from an array of retailers including The Sporting District, The Twig Book Shop, The Tiny Finch, Adelante Boutique, Ten Thousand Villages, Curio, LeeLee Shoes, Dos Carolinas, Leighelena, Niche Boutique, The Vintage Bouquet Bar, Curio, Hiatus Spa + Retreat, Lick Honest Ice Creams, Local Coffee, Larder, and High Street Wine Co.

HOLIDAY NIGHT MARKET:
Starting Thursday, November 29 from 4 to 8 p.m., Pearl will bring back its popular Holiday Night Markets featuring Farmers Market and artisan vendors and live music by Las Coronelas and Azul Barrientos. The Holiday Night Markets also include traditional foodie favorites like tamales, artisanal chocolates and sweets. Guests can find the perfect gift from vendors like Snake Hawk Press, Very That, La Casa Frida, Naco Tamales, Ms. Chocolatier, Wildflower Caramels, PAWSitively Sweet Bakery and more. Vendors will vary each week. The dates for the Holiday Night Market include November 29, and December 6, 13, and 20. This event is free and open to the public.


CHANUKAH: 
Monday, December 3: Chanukah Celebration and Menorah Lighting from 6 – 7:30 p.m.

Pearl welcomes back the 4th annual holiday tradition in partnership with Young & Jewish San Antonio (YJSA) with the Chanukah Menorah lighting celebration on December 3. The festivities at Pearl will bring the entire San Antonio community together from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Shade Structure near the CIA Live Fire Kitchen. The Menorah at Pearl will be lit each evening of Chanukah. This event is free and open to the public.

CHRISTMAS CAROLING:
Starting Wednesday, December 5, Pearl celebrates the tradition of Christmas Caroling with choirs from several local schools and organizations, including Lamar Elementary, Hawthorne Elementary, Northwest Hills Baptist Church (Kidz Music Club), San Antonio Chamber Choir, Chantez Nouvelle and more. The dates for Christmas Caroling include December 5, 11, 12, 17 and 18. Times vary, please check Pearl’s social media and website for more information. This event is free and open to the public.

DOC WATKINS’ BIG BAND HOLIDAY CLASSICS CONCERT
Sunday, December 9 at 7:30 p.m., Pearl Park

Pearl presents Doc Watkins and a stellar line-up of San Antonio musical talent for an evening of big band holiday classic songs. The performance recreates Doc’s soon-to-be released and much anticipate album—Doc Watkins Christmas in Jazz, TX. Alongside members of the San Antonio Symphony, Doc sings Silver Bells, White Christmas, and other classic holiday standards. This event is free and open to the public.

POSADA:
Wednesday, December 19 at 6:30 – 9 p.m., Pearl Park
Inspired by the Mexican tradition of Las Posadas, Pearl hosts its second annual traditional Posada on December 19 from 6:30 - 9 p.m. Hosted by Father David Garcia and Las Misiones, the community members are invited to join the posada and become pilgrims traveling by candlelight. Las Posadas is a nine-day Christmas celebration in Mexico and Latin America, centered on the ritual re-enactment of Mary and Joseph’s quest to find lodging in Bethlehem. The evening includes live music, children’s crafts, piñatas, and custom Mexican treats of buñuelos, tamales, and Mexican hot chocolate. This event is free and open to the public.
