SAN ANTONIO, TX (AUGUST 6, 2018) – Mala Luna Music Festival is proud to announce the full music lineup for the third annual weekend celebration of music and culture, taking place on Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28 of Halloween weekend at Nelson Wolff Stadium (Parking Lot) west of downtown San Antonio, Texas. Two-day GA and VIP tickets are on sale now at

This year’s festival will offer festival-goers its most diverse lineup yet, as it includes several Latin artists of international fame, in addition to keeping with the event’s tradition of offering a variety of the most sought after hip-hop and EDM acts in music. Set to headline the 2018 stage will include the Bronx-native emcee Cardi B, who many consider to be today’s “Queen of Rap” following the massive success of her debut studio album, Invasion of Privacy, earlier this year, which was led by several #1 hits such as “Bodak Yellow”, “Bartier Cardi” and “I Like It”; as well as the Latin Grammy-nominated rapper-singer Nicky Jam, who released Fenix last year, marking the end to a decade-long hiatus in music. Nicky most recently performed alongside rapper/actor/producer Will Smith to one of the largest audiences of all time at the closing ceremony of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Moscow, Russia. Also set to headline Mala Luna 2018 is LA-based rapper and producer Tyler, The Creator, who continues to perform in support of his 2017 album, Flower Boy, which received praise from critics and fans alike, including a nomination for “Best Rap Album” at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards.

Additional performers set to grace the Mala Luna stage include viral sensation-turned-actress/singer Becky G, who is scheduled to release her debut project later in 2018, which will include two full-length albums – one of which will be entirely in Spanish and completely unlike the English-speaking sister album; along with some of the biggest American DJ’s performing today, including two Los Angeles-based producers, Dillon Francis, who is currently prepping for the release of his next album which is said to heavily feature Latin and Spanish-language music, and Deorro, who released his long-awaited debut album, Good Evening, late last year; in addition to the Miami-based electronic music duo GTA.

A full slate of chart-topping hip-hop acts are also set to perform, including South Florida rapper Lil Pump, who continues to dominate radio waves with his self-titled debut album released last October that features hits like “Gucci Gang” and "Esskeetit”; Atlanta’s hottest up-and-coming emcee Lil Baby, who is riding high off the success of his 2018 debut album, Harder Than Ever, supported by the Drake-infused smash-hit “Yes Indeed”; Rich The Kid, who will perform in support of his debut album, The World Is Yours, released earlier this year and supported by the hit single “Plug Walk”; Memphis-born BlocBoy JB, who is best known for his song "Look Alive" featuring Drake and his viral dance sensation called “the shoot”; Gunna, who is signed to Young Thug’s YSL imprint and is working towards the release of his full-length debut album later this year; and Miami’s own Smokepurpp, one of the most well-known figures of the recent "soundcloud rap" movement, in addition to acts like LA-based rap collective Shoreline Mafia; Tierra Whack; Wifisfuneral; Rico Nasty; Saweetie and Noah North. Through the festival’s continued efforts to support San Antonio’s up-and-coming music scene, several San Antonio-based artists are also slated to perform, including Angel Cintron and Bambi, as well as Gracelyndd Gomez and Marissa Rose Mejia of Network for Young Artists.

In its second year in 2017, Mala Luna once again proved that the event is truly unique across the festival landscape in featuring high-profile music performances, multiple live art installations, numerous local food vendors and merchants, as well as highly curated themes and designs, costumes and more – all of which help pay tribute to the local culture and the San Antonio community’s annual Diá de los Muertos celebrations.

The festival celebrated last October at a new home in Nelson Wolff Stadium (Parking Lot), which resulted in a sold-out two-day event with 50,000 fans in attendance throughout the weekend, nearly doubling the overall attendance from the inaugural event in 2016. The event continues to play host to a variety of renowned talent with previous music performers having included Future, Travis Scott, Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa, Migos, G-Eazy, Tory Lanez, Lil Uzi Vert, Rae Sremmurd, and Lil Yachty, as well as Kaskade, Afrojack, Steve Aoki, Carnage, Borgore, and others.

The festival team would like to personally thank all of the 2018 partners who are helping to make this year’s event possible, including Univision’s 98.5 The Beat (KBBT-FM) and Latino Mix 95.1 (KMYO-FM), in addition to Lone Star Beer, Whataburger, and Tito’s Handmade Vodka.

Additionally, Mala Luna looks forward to continuing its partnership with Network for Young Artists (NYA), as the festival will again donate a portion of the proceeds to the San Antonio-based organization. NYA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides affordable classes in voice, guitar, percussion, keyboard, and dance to San Antonio-area youth ranging in ages from 4 to 20 years old. Over the past two years, the partnership has directly supported student-driven music education initiatives throughout the following year. Beyond the charitable donation itself, two students from the organization have again been invited to perform at the festival with this year’s artists from NYA being Gracelyndd Gomez and Marissa Rose Mejia.
