Fun is Brewing at San Antonio Zoo this Fall

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS –  There’s a lot happening at San Antonio Zoo this fall – coffee, candy, cocoa, and more!

San Antonio Zoo is thrilled to announce the opening of a Starbucks location at Brackenridge Park.  This new zoo themed Starbucks will replace the Train Café located on North St. Mary’s across the street from the zoo entrance.

This project follows nearly $40M in improvements by the San Antonio Zoological Society since 2014.  For the last several years San Antonio Zoo has offered “brewed by” Starbucks coffee in Beastro Restaurant.

“This Starbucks location, located across the street from the zoo, will be a fully operational Starbucks serving not only zoo visitors, but park visitors, the local business community, and area students,” said Tim Morrow, President & CEO of San Antonio Zoological Society. “The proceeds from this Starbucks will enable and benefit the zoological society’s efforts in both local and international conservation, education, and in zoo improvements.”

Renovations, by Jordan Foster Construction, to the former Train Café will start in the coming weeks and Starbucks is scheduled to be operational before years’ end. Daily hours of operation for Starbucks will expand beyond the zoo’s operating hours.

Zoo Boo!

Zoo Boo! is back, bigger, boo-ier than ever!  This non-spooky event has been expanded this year to bring back the long tradition of trick-or-treating at the zoo on Halloween night in addition to the six weekends of Zoo Boo! leading up to Halloween night. The daytime family fun kicks off this weekend, Saturday, September 21 and runs through Sunday, October 27 and Thursday, October 31.

Whataburger Zoo Lights

San Antonio Zoo has once again been transformed into a winter wonderland filled with a jaw-dropping array of twinkling lights and wild Christmas decorations.  Guests will feel the holiday spirit while strolling under a unique display of lights daily beginning Saturday, November 16 through Tuesday, December 31.
